What's a good way to get out of an art/writing block when you're in a deep depression?

I haven't felt creative in a while and that's always been my escapism from being sad. Any ideas I've come up with lately are at best generic and my art... well I can't even seem to bring pen to tablet (the fact I'm too poor to afford my usual tote-along sketchbook doesn't help though). I've tried waiting it out as well as forcing myself and neither of these work...so does anyone have any suggestions on how to stimulate my creativity or even suggestions on how to deal with things when you're depressed? I've really been having a hard time coping.
